2019-02-12Auto merge of #58051 - SimonSapin:str_escape, r=alexcrichtonbors-2/+1
Stabilize str::escape_* methods with new return types… … that implement `Display` and `Iterator<Item=char>`, as proposed in FCP: https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/issues/27791#issuecomment-376864727
2019-02-12Auto merge of #58341 - alexreg:cosmetic-2-doc-comments, r=steveklabnikbors-2/+2
Cosmetic improvements to doc comments This has been factored out from https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/pull/58036 to only include changes to documentation comments (throughout the rustc codebase). r? @steveklabnik Once you're happy with this, maybe we could get it through with r=1, so it doesn't constantly get invalidated? (I'm not sure this will be an issue, but just in case...) Anyway, thanks for your advice so far!

2018-03-09mir dataflow: change graphviz outputbobtwinkles-0/+6
The new output format is perhaps a little more readable. As a bonus, we get labels on the outgoing edges to more easily corroborate the dataflow with the plain MIR graphviz output.

2017-06-23Removed as many "```ignore" as possible.kennytm-1/+1
Replaced by adding extra imports, adding hidden code (`# ...`), modifying examples to be runnable (sorry Homura), specifying non-Rust code, and converting to should_panic, no_run, or compile_fail. Remaining "```ignore"s received an explanation why they are being ignored.

2016-12-29Remove not(stage0) from deny(warnings)Alex Crichton-1/+1
Historically this was done to accommodate bugs in lints, but there hasn't been a bug in a lint since this feature was added which the warnings affected. Let's completely purge warnings from all our stages by denying warnings in all stages. This will also assist in tracking down `stage0` code to be removed whenever we're updating the bootstrap compiler.
2016-11-30Update the bootstrap compilerAlex Crichton-1/+0
Now that we've got a beta build, let's use it!
2016-10-31Changed most vec! invocations to use square bracesiirelu-5/+5
Most of the Rust community agrees that the vec! macro is clearer when called using square brackets [] instead of regular brackets (). Most of these ocurrences are from before macros allowed using different types of brackets. There is one left unchanged in a pretty-print test, as the pretty printer still wants it to have regular brackets.

2016-01-24mk: Move from `-D warnings` to `#![deny(warnings)]`Alex Crichton-0/+1
This commit removes the `-D warnings` flag being passed through the makefiles to all crates to instead be a crate attribute. We want these attributes always applied for all our standard builds, and this is more amenable to Cargo-based builds as well. Note that all `deny(warnings)` attributes are gated with a `cfg(stage0)` attribute currently to match the same semantics we have today
