mbe: Refactor diagnostics for invalid metavar expression syntax
Give a more user-friendly diagnostic about the following:
* Trailing tokens within braces, e.g. `${foo() extra}`
* Missing parentheses, e.g. `${foo}`
* Incorrect number of arguments, with a hint about correct usage.
