2020-07-03ci: move all x86_64 runners to the host-x86_64 directoryPietro Albini-40/+0
We need to add runners designed for an aarch64 host system, and it'd be nice to return an error message if someone tries to run an image designed for an host architecture in another one. To start the work on this, this commit moves all the existing builders in the host-x86_64 directory, and changes the run.sh script to look up the image in the correct directory based on the host architecture.

2020-04-23Enable "full tools" option on ARM dist buildersAlex Crichton-1/+1
This commit switches the `--enable-extended` option on the arm-related dist builders to `--enable-full-tools`. This alias in `config.py` corresponds to enabling a few more options: * `rust.lld = true` - this is the main purpose of this PR, to enable LLD on ARM-related platforms. This means it will effectively unlock compilation of wasm programs from an arm host. * `rust.llvm-tools = true` - it turns out that this option is largely ignored in rustbuild today. This is only read in one location to set some flags for the `llvm-tools` package, but the `llvm-tools` package is already produced on all of these builders. It's predicted that this will have no effect on build times. * `rust.codegen-backends = ['llvm']` - historically this also enabled the emscripten backend, but that has long since been removed. This brings the ARM dist builders in line with the x86_64 dist builders using this flag. The hope is that the extra time spent on CI building LLD will acceptable because it's cached by `sccache`, LLD is a relatively small C++ project, and the dist builders are all clocking well under 3 hours (the slowest of all builders) around 2 hours. There's likely some possible cleanup that can happen with these configure options since it doesn't look like they've aged too too well, but I'm hopeful that possible refactorings, if necessary, could be deferred to future PRs.

This change should enable PGO to be used for aarch64-linux. Fixes #57257.
2018-03-25rustbuild: Disable docs on cross-compiled buildsAlex Crichton-1/+1
This commit disables building documentation on cross-compiled compilers, for example ARM/MIPS/PowerPC/etc. Currently I believe we're not getting much use out of these documentation artifacts and they often take 10-15 minutes total to build as it requires building rustdoc/rustbook and then also generating all the documentation, especially for the reference and the book itself. In an effort to cut down on the amount of work that we're doing on dist CI builders in light of recent timeouts this was some relatively low hanging fruit to cut which in theory won't have much impact on the ecosystem in the hopes that the documentation isn't used too heavily anyway. While initial analysis in #48827 showed only shaving 5 minutes off local builds the same 5 minute conclusion was drawn from #48826 which ended up having nearly a half-hour impact on the bots. In that sense I'm hoping that we can land this and test out what happens on CI to see how it affects timing. Note that all tier 1 platforms, Windows, Mac, and Linux, will continue to generate documentation.
2018-03-02Remove --host and --target arguments to configureMark Simulacrum-1/+1
These arguments are passed to the relevant x.py invocation in all cases anyway. As such, there is no need to separately configure them. x.py will ignore the configuration when they are passed on the command line anyway.
2017-08-26ci: Remove the need for `dumb-init`Alex Crichton-5/+0
Newer versions of Docker have a `--init` argument which spawns an init process in the container, which we should be able to use everywhere now.

2017-05-12Update sccache binaries to mozilla/sccache@d3627d766Alex Crichton-1/+1
This commit updates the sccache binaries to fix a cache load failure seen on #41926, fixed by mozilla/sccache#119
2017-04-29ci: Update sccache buildAlex Crichton-1/+1
Pulls in mozilla/sccache@ef0d77543 to fix #40240 again after the builds included in #41447 forgot to include the mio fixed included in #41076. Closes #40240
2017-04-27appveyor: Use Ninja/sccache on MSVCAlex Crichton-1/+1
Now that the final bug fixes have been merged into sccache we can start leveraging sccache on the MSVC builders on AppVeyor instead of relying on the ad-hoc caching strategy of trigger files and whatnot.
2017-04-27travis: Update sccache build usedAlex Crichton-1/+1
This build is no longer a forked version with temporary bugfixes, everything should be upstreamed!
2017-04-04travis: Update sccache binariesAlex Crichton-1/+1
I've tracked down what I believe is the last spurious sccache failure on #40240 to behavior in mio (carllerche/mio#583), and this commit updates the binaries to a version which has that fix incorporated.
2017-04-03travis: Split all dist builders in twoAlex Crichton-0/+77
Previously we would use one builder on Travis to produce two sets of host compilers for two different targets. Unfortunately though we've recently increased how much we're building for each target so this is starting to take unnecessarily long (#40804). This commit splits the dist builders in two by ensuring that we only dist one target on each builder, which should take a much shorter amount of time. This should also unblock other work such as landing the RLS (#40584).
