It lived a good life, but its time has come. The groundwork is set for the
official transition after the next snapshot (removal of XXX2 macros)

It is simply defined as `f64` across every platform right now.
A use case hasn't been presented for a `float` type defined as the
highest precision floating point type implemented in hardware on the
platform. Performance-wise, using the smallest precision correct for the
use case greatly saves on cache space and allows for fitting more
numbers into SSE/AVX registers.
If there was a use case, this could be implemented as simply a type
alias or a struct thanks to `#[cfg(...)]`.

Change the former repetition::
for 5.times { }
to::
do 5.times { }
.times() cannot be broken with `break` or `return` anymore; for those
cases, use a numerical range loop instead.

The free-standing functions in f32, f64, i8, i16, i32, i64, u8, u16,
u32, u64, float, int, and uint are replaced with generic functions in
num instead.
If you were previously using any of those functions, just replace them
with the corresponding function with the same name in num.
Note: If you were using a function that corresponds to an operator, use
the operator instead.

Instead of determining paths from the path tag, we iterate through
modules' children recursively in the metadata. This will allow for
lazy external module resolution.
|

The removed test for issue #2611 is well covered by the `std::iterator`
module itself.
This adds the `count` method to `IteratorUtil` to replace `EqIter`.
|

The confusing mixture of byte index and character count meant that every
use of .substr was incorrect; replaced by slice_chars which only uses
character indices. The old behaviour of `.substr(start, n)` can be emulated
via `.slice_from(start).slice_chars(0, n)`.

|
This only changes the directory names; it does not change the "real"
metadata names.
